Taringa! is an Argentinian social network about entertaining and link-sharing. It allows registered users to post and rate other users posts. In order to achieve this last, they receive certain number of points per day to spend on them; the number varies depending on the user's score. The sum of points gained by all his/her posts determines the score. Rankings of users and posts are elaborated weekly.

Scoring system

When a point is given to a post, its punctuation increases in one (the post owner's score too, as well). To calificate the same post more than once is allowed.

Users classification and points to give:

  • Administrator: 35 points per day.
  • Moderator: 35 points per day.
  • Gold User: users ranked between 1—50 in T! Rank. 30 points per day.
  • Silver User: users ranked between 51—100 in T! Rank. 20 points per day.
  • Great User: position given by a moderator to reward a user, there are not specific rules for choosing them. 17 points per day.
  • Full User: gold and silver users that went out of ranking. 12 points per day.
  • New Full User: granted to a newbie after receiving 50 points in a single post. 10 points per day.
  • Newbies: they has total access to the site, but their activity is limited to post and comment only in the newbies' section. They cannot give points.

T! Rank

T! Rank is a daily generated user ranking that goes from the 1st to 100th positions, calculated with a formula that rates participation and content shared by the users.

  • The scoring system is very simple and the information is displayed by rankings.
